I was given a cutting from a newspaper about a 40 minute wonder opp.
It was about a gut that had copd. He had this operation at Royal Brompron hospital in London, Now he has gone back to work and has been cured.
Look up trials in Royal brompton or what i did i wrote to the Chief Executive and asked for the trial. As it is i have a bubble on my right lung. that operation will not help me but they are going to cut the bubble out i think in January, i think they call it a bula that i have.

The operation that you are alluding to is the insertion of endobronchial nitinol coils, firstly into one lung and dependant on the area of damage approx 10-15 coils are implanted then after approx 30 days after if all is well more coils are inserted into the other lung,It is not unfortunately a cure for Emphysema as none exists, but on average after recent trials it has been established that an approx 10-15% improvement in lung function/capacity can be achieved with an improved quality of life for severe Emphysema patients.
This minimally invasive procedure is sometimes offered to people like myself who are not suitable for more complex procedures such as valve insertion or the even more invasive procedure of cutting away damaged lung(lung volume reduction) in order to achieve similar outcomes.................................regards skis and scruffy cat
