travel insurance
As per my earlier posts I did not have a foreign holiday for 3 years due to exorbitant insurance. This year I found ''insurancewith.com' which, despite my various chronic illnesses, has quoted what I consider a reasonable price for an 80 year old with, COPD, BARRETT'S OESOPHAGUS, ATRIAL FIBRILLATION, HIATUS HERNIA, DIVERTICULOSIS, PROSTATE PROBLEMS, HYPERTENSION AND OCCULAR HYPERTENSION. £325.00 for 2 weeks in Spain for me and my wife (who also has a couple of chronic conditions ), this is compared to £1200.00 from other so called specialist insurers. Excess for pre-existing conditions is £500.00 but if needed you're getting something for your money. Other excesses are £75.00.
Hi I have used Staysure (Good value for over 50's). You could try a comparison site. They can give you different quotes. Depending on where you are going and what kind do if over you are looking for. Hope this helps.
If you type 'Travel Insurance' in the Search box (above right) it will bring up several threads where this has been discussed and you may find some useful suggestions amongst them.
At the moment BLF don’t hold a list of insurance companies, but other people have found insurers by searching on the internet under ‘travel insurance for pre-existing medical conditions’. We can’t single out any particular company as being better than another, but we do have a link with an insurance company called Fish Insurance.
We’re not recommending them and we can’t promise they’ll be the cheapest but we do know they have a lot of experience providing insurance to people with pre-existing medical conditions.
You can contact them on 0333 331 3848 or visit their website fishinsurance.co.uk/blf/
For every policy they issue, a donation will be made to British Lung Foundation.
I hope you find a company suitable for you.

hi bri I used staysure last year and I am over 60 with a few conditions- they were reasonable compared to others- I'm hoping the NatWest flexi account will do a better deal this year- it did seem cheaper when I rang for a quote with all my medical conditions. Good hunting
Southdowns Travel Insurance also good
Staysure were really competitive for me last year...£450 for 5 weeks in the US. If you get an online quote wait a few days before responding and they might offer you a discount- they did for me. 😀
