I am on 2 inhalers, and nebulise up to 4 times a day. I am also taking. Predniscolene & antibiotics roughly every 6-8 weeks . I am 60 and my lungs have gone hard at the edges. I have put on about1 1/2 stone in 2 months, how do I get rid of it. Advice please, as I am new to this site, is there a solution, I love salad.

Good to meet you. I know from others on here that steroid use long term can cause weight gain.
There is also a very good weight loss site on here and some of them have complex health issues as well. It might help you to join that one too. All the best.
Hi Lizzy and welcome, don't think there's any magic way to lose weight with the steroids, I take a maintenance dose all the time and have gained two stones that I'm trying to get rid of. It is possible though, and good that you like salad. Depends how dedicated you are, I can smell chocolate from a mile away! Good luck! Xx
Cut down on carbs - high in calories and sugar. Try the Paleo diet.
Unfortunately weight gain seems to be a big side affect of long term steroids. I gained 3 stone a few years back then chose to go to slimming world. I managed to lose it again &am now not on steroids. .. (well I'm on inhaled steroids but not prednisolone) so have managed to keep it off.Steroids seem to affect me really badly. ..moodwise too...they throw me into the depths of depression (even suicidal depression )so my doctors won't give them to me now in the long term even though they help my asthma &kidneys. Hope you manage to find a way through!
Has your doctor ever mentioned pulmonary fibrosis? That what it sounds like to me. Check with him or a Pulmonologist, which is a lung specialist.
