I have COPD, Emphysema and Fibrosis. I've been on oxygen for 7 months and during that time I've had a sore throat constantly' I've lost 4 stone in this time without trying.
I've read that rapid weight loss is a sign of the final stages and am extremely worried.
Is there any hope

There is always hope, you know the old saying where's there's life there's hope. Keep fighting and think positive, there is probably a perfectly good reason for the weight loss. If you are worried please go to the doctors. Let us know how you get on please and do some ositive thinking. Love Bernadette 😊 xx
Thanks for your reply. I'll try and see my doctor which is very difficult to do and I only get to see nurse practitioners who know very little about my condition. I'll let you know what happens. Love Graham
If you haven't already done so grumbar, do speak with you doctor about this, just mention what you have said here. Your doctor may want to send you for further tests. Meantime check out BLF page on maintaining a healthy weight:
Make an appointment to see your doctor. I have COPD and lost a stone over a couple of months. Also had slight swelling on my neck. Blood test showed I had overactive thyroid. With medication I now have underactive and have put on all the weight and still adding. The loss of weight in itself is a symptom that should be investigated.
