Hi, I had the pneumonia inoculation two days ago and my arm is very sore, so much so even the sleeve of a loose top hurts. I can't lie on it and moving or raising it is painful. There is also some blotching of skin reading from the site of the injection. I am also feeling a little nauseated, is this normal?

Pneumonia jab
Hi fionab67 This link may help with you question. nhs.uk/Conditions/vaccinati...
Many thanks!
When my husband got his pneumonia shot he couldn't do much with that arm for over a week! And just as a little note, he now has pneumonia! When he asked the doctor how he could get it when he's had the shot, his doctor said that the shot was only about 50% effective. Hmmm. But I guess 50% is better than nothing.
I had the pneumonia jag in 2006 when first dx with COPD. And again in 2016 when dx with 2 autoimmune disorders. Then still managed to get pneumonia last November but with having the jag it wasn't as bad as it would have been if I had not of had the jag. I was told by the doctor that there is no guarentee. If your immunity is low witch mine was.
I got cellulitis after mine. My arm was lumpy and sore. Go back to your doctors as if you have got this also you need a course of antibiotics .
Take care
Could it be because the nurses have stopped swabbing the injection site before inserting the needle?
