Hello Scud,
I don't have an answer for you, but hopefully someone will be along shortly to give you some good advice. In the meantime, don't try to do too much, relax, drink tap water, hopefully you will have had some breakfast. Sorry, I'm not much use.
All the best.
xx
yes you are 'of use' because you reply, reassure and care. Finished that jigsaw yet?? xxx

Sue..............I wish I had your home address - you might find a lovely sssssurprise on your doorstep............................
It's freezing in my conservatory - would you have me stand over the table in there shivering? Shouldn't be long now before help arrives......

Oh! Oops!! I hadn't realised you and your penguins 🐧 are separated because of your heating problems.
Very sorry 😐 You can have my address?

Hehe heh Sue.......Should be fixed later today.
I simply have to finish it. I am unable to leave something half done. Here is a link for it...out of stock at the moment...but you can ask to be notified when it is back on the shelves if you feel like torturing yourself.

Sorry you unwell wish I could help but I'm same as you I'm on oxygen and my heart beat goes sky high when I try to do anything good you feeling ok in yourself
Are you on betablockers, they have helped my ectopic heartbeats, and I find its often after food I feel aware of my heart. Sometimes if I take my pulse it is not as bad as it feels. Unpleasant though. I think indigestion contributes too.
I'm in the same boat I was admitted with what I was told by my GP was a virus turns out my lungs were failing due to a copd exacerbation. I'm now 4 weeks on with oxygen at home I thought the fatigue was just a side effect of the copd and my heart rate also elevates whenever I try to do anything, now I'm guessing not? I have so many questions that my GP just couldn't answer, I cant wait till I see my copd nurse at the end of the month. I just feel so ill educated and google is a very scary place. x
Hello Scud,
I'm wondering if you know your heart rate goes up - do you check your pulse with an oximeter? - or do you feel that it's rapid. Was it doing this when you were in hospital and if so, did you mention it to anyone?
If it's a new thing it might be useful to mention it to your doctor. When we're breathless it can make the heart work a bit harder and the rate can go up. The beta blockers that Lyd12 mentioned make the heart beat more slowly, and it can relieve some of your breathlessness.
I hope you feel better soon. Sue x
Hi Scud
I expect they checked your stats before you left?? If so you need rest and baby steps..If you feel anxious I would make an appointment with the GP..some meds can be the cause as well so maybe talk to your pharmacist if you get the chance..
Difficult to say how long it will take for you to recover..after my last pleurisy I felt tired for ages and thought I went back to work too soon..
Take care x
hi scud....i know what you mean! i am on 02 24/7 and my 02 stats are around 97. then all of a sudden my heart rate would jump up to 110/125 bpm and cause me sob! especially after i eat. doc put me on Metoprolol and it has definitely improved my heart rate. this drug is also good for blood pressure. my SOB was so severe it was difficult to know if it was my heart or lungs. i bought an oximetry and that is how i knew my heart rate
was the culprit.....hope you sort your issue soon.
Thank you everyone for your replies they have helped I suppose I have just got to let it take its coarse xx
