Winter 2013 again. Was so delighted with all your replies to my " infection signs" post yesterday and since discussed a wealth of info from looking at lots of other posts. Pineapple juice is beneficial for Bronchiectasis. What's in it that's good? Xxx
You can also get the tablets from Holland and Barret. Bromaline I think.

Yes, it is bromelain. It's brilliant for digestion. And the most effective part of the pineapple is the core.
Be very careful with Pineapple and grapefruit juice they can react with a lot of different mediactions so check with your doctor before using it
Mandy, I've seen grapefruit juice mentioned as a 'no no' with Diltiazem, one of my meds but I've never seen pineapple juice mentioned as a contra indication. Do you have any idea what meds it interacts with ?
Sorry honey its apple juice not pineapple juice ,,, its also orange juice too
They can affect some of the antibiotics and other medication from working properly

It's hard to get a consensus on anything related to health, winter. One day something's good for you, next day it's bad. Hard to keep up 
Can't have grapefruit due to blood pressure tablets ,but is orange juice or pineapple juice ok ,I also have bronchiectisis?
Hi. Years ago I had chemo and they recommended pineapple juice - said it was a natural antiseptic. I now that doesn't really answer your question but I thought I would chip in!
