I am from South Carolina and new to this site. I found y'all from googling C.O.P.D sites. I was diagnosed right before my 40th birthday with my C.O.P.D. . Which was in February of this year. I have been out of work since March and had to file for disability. I also have been hospitalized 4 times since then due to breathing issues. I don't heal like most people due to my Adrenaline glands do not work period. I wanted to introduce myself to y'all and hope that i can have some support from reading other people's issues that are like me. Also, I know that I am not alone reading others struggle with the same conditions and knowing I am not alone. Thanks for sharing your life experience so people like me feel some sort of connection and understanding. I hope I can too share some of my experiences for other's to have hope and an understanding that they are not alone.

Welcome to the site.
A very warm welcome to you agaughf136. I'm sure you'll enjoy being a member of this very supportive site.
Come back & chat to us anytime, there's usually someone around even with the time difference. πΈ
Hi agaughf136 - welcome. Sorry you are dealing with all this. You're young to be diagnosed with copd. Have you been tested for Alpha-1-antitrypsin deficiency? When younger people have copd it's often due to this. There are others here with A1A who might be able to give you information but ignore this if you've already been tested negative for it.
Do come and chat here any time, always someone around
Welcome
Hello agaughf123, I too am recently diagnosed with COPD, had one or two problems since but think I'm now sorted. Parton your user name is quite familiar to me, is the gaugh short for Gaughran, my surname?
Hi and welcome to the site. I needed someone to share my fears and thoughts concerning COPD with someone who knew how I felt and luckily, I stumbled onto this brilliant site and I'm eternally grateful for that xx
Hello and welcome
Hi agaughf136! Hope you're having a good start to 2017. Take care.
