Oramorph is given in small doses, half to one teaspoon a time to c.o.p.d sufferers To relax and so help with your breathing. I've been taking it, when needed for years. If you follow the correct dosage given to you it's fine and will help.
It's a very low dose of morphine so don't worry. Many copy sufferers take it. P
Yes I have been taking for couple years 2and half ml every four hours if needed I use it when ever feeling breathless or panic or anxiety comes on very good it was respiratory nurse who put me on it have repeat prescription for when needed you will like it

Greetings
I take 2.5ml before I do anything that's going to make me breathless. When I asked the Doctor about a persistent cough, she advised "take a swig of morphine"
Just make sure you drink plenty of orange juice or whatever makes you "move". The downside to morphine is horrendous constipation.

I am under treatment for severe COPD. My palliative care doctor prescribed morphine drops to my surprise. For some unknown reason they reduce the sensation of breathlessness. For me they have been very helpful when I find myself hyperventilating even when just sitting. I am on oxygen and my Sp02 is fine, but I still get massively out of breath with movement. Morphine really helps me.
