infection
Oh, dear, Artchie. Hope you feel better very soon.
Time of year maybe artchie but try and eat well, move around and avoid crowds if possible. Have you had flu jab?
Get well soon xxx
Good morning artchie,
No it is not nice, and you sound really miserable with it all. A sincere hope that it does halt very soon for you and you can get back on as even a keel as soon as possible.
Morning Art, what a shame you have an infection. I sympathise with you having to take all these abs & steroids, but, you know that's what will make you feel better.
Hang on in there, keep warm, take the meds, avoid going out till your infection has gone.
Let us know how you're getting on 🌻
Has your GP tested your sputum to make sure you are on the correct antibiotic?
It may not ever stop Artchie, perhaps you just have to accept that and do EVERYTHING you can to help reduce the number of infections you get, and the severity of each one, and the amount of damage that each infection may do to your lungs.
and this CAN be done Artchie, follow all the good advice on this site, make sure you read up all you can about your disease, be pro-active in your own medical progress, and you will be surprised at the amount you can reduce infections, improve your lung condition and generally improve your health all round
I have been having lung infections now for more than 7 decades, but still here and handling them MUCH better now that I used to when I had no knowledge about the best way to handle them. You have the benefit of the internet and improved antibiotics etc to help you, make sure you learn ALL you can to help yourself
Regards Sohara
Feel like Im stalking you Sohara
Artchie, Sohara is a veteran of constant lung infections and she is a brilliant survivor of them. The proactive bit is so important in self-management. And do do as MrsM has said and make sure you get your sputum tested as the wrong antibiotic won't do much for you.
Cant say more than the replies above but wish you a return to health asap.
wise words
I know the feeling, I've had this for 10 days now, starting to feel a bit better each day though. Take care and rest.
I hope you can shake it off sooner rather than later, good idea on the sputum test.I have a bad ear and test showed I needed yet another different type of AB I'm on the last day but I don't think they've worked.Feel better soon, don't forget to keep changing your toothbrushes every time you have any kind of infection.huff xxx
What a brilliant tip, never thought of changing my toothbrush when I had an infection, will definitely try that, stands to reason when you think about it, as you are just re- infecting yourself otherwise! Thanks so much for the tip. Should you change it at start of antibiotics or at the end though?
Poor artchie -- l'm sorry you're having such a bad time. And I hope you're getting this autumn and winters infections over all at once. Keep warm and drink plenty, and all the other things you've learnt to do even though you don't feel like doing them.

I know! My husband has one infection after another and is just out of hospital after pneumonia. Still on steroids and antibiotics. I wish we knew the answer, but I feel it's just a way of life and try to get him enjoying the spells in between. If you ever find ann answer, let us know! Good luck
Hi Artchie, you sound really fed up with your health, hope you feel better soon, even tablets take a while to work. Take care
