After effects of prednisolone.

Went to my doctor to discuss my blood test results, and he said my blood sugar level is high. I told him i still felt poorly, couldnt sleep and am very tired all the time, and getting depressed. ( i dont want to get depressed, not nice), so he sent me to hosp for more blood tests, to test for diabetes, and rheumatoid arthiritis, plus a couple of other tests. The results will be with him on Friday, so i am playing the waiting game again, and hope that it wont be anything too serious. COPD is enough to cope with and high blood pressur. Though i know, there are lots and lots of people who are far worse off than me, with far more serious illnesses, and i wish them all the best.

Hello Sheepdog, sorry to read you still feel lousy. Hopefully you haven't got diabetes from taking pred, it is possible to have high blood sugars and only be in the pre stage of diabetes and that can be treated quite successfully with Metformin. And just because someone has far worse illnesses than you doesn't mean that you shouldn't feel that that you cannot have the odd whinge. It doesn't matter if you have a minor illness or several major ones, it is you that has to live with it. Depression is also unpleasant, feel free to chat with me privately or blog about it publically, because talking about it is a good way to cope. Fingers crossed that all will turn out all right for you.

Thats kind of you, thankyou. Yes, talking about it definately helps. Its not too good talking to family, because they get upset, (understandable when its loved ones), and also they dont always understand about copd etc etc. im a doglover too! But collies (sheepdogs) are my weakness, and i got my present one from a farm in Bromyard, which i believe isnt that far from you? if you are in Hereford. Keep in touch.

Try not to stress too much while you wait for friday. I always tell myself not to stress untill I have something concrete to stress about. You only imagine the worst and then find out its nothing serious. keep calm sheepdog we all have everything crossed for you. Tony.

Thankyou. I am a born worrier, and find it hard not to sress. My nearest and dearest said what you did, dont stress until you have something definate to stress about. I try.

Please try not to worry. I now libeby the mantra 'there's no point worrying about things you can't change' . Easier said than done but its changes my outlook.

Have everything crossed for you re your results.

Sorry you're having problems, I have had about 8 lots of prendisolone in the last 18m but luckily i don't need it more. I find that it makes me really anxious and upset. Could it be that it's actually the affects of this affecting your mood rather than depression?
