Attendance allowance assessment
Be social services i think .. think now its called personal independent budget.
Ya need to lay it on with them AS there to busy spending adult care budgets on other things than adult care and there deluded view of independent living
Hi
I would concentrate on preparing for the PIP assessment. If you are denied PIP then it follows you may not meet the criteria for AA, I would not think you can claim PIP for mobility and then claim AA for the care component.
It's not her claim stone it's her husbands SO I think she can claim eather way pip go's for her husband
I think you would be better phoning the DWP to get the right advice. The Benifit system is very complexed x
Depending on your age, attendance allowance no longer exists as PIP has replaced it - I was on AA but when my re-assessment came up, was assessed for PIP instead.
It sounds as if your husband is in the age band, as I am, that is now on PIP and AA will not be relevant
Concentrate on the PIP assessment and good luck
Hi, I started to fill the form out to apply for this when I was thrown out because we had more than (I think it was £10,000) savings. But if you do not have any savings to speak of, give it a go. The form I filled in was from the Martin Lewis website but I believe you can Google it and the form will come up. Good luck and I hope you are successful. Maximonkey
If he is on PIP already then they re-assess for that. If they turn him down, ALWAYS ask for a Mandatory Reconsideration within the time frame. If that is turned down, take it to appeal court. Dont just reapply for Attendance Allowance instead before going through the above first. Attendance Allowance is much harder to get than PIP. The assessments will be done by whichever medical services the DWP use in your area. Quite often they can be done at home if the person is unable to attend elsewhere. Remember to fill in any forms based on the worst days.
Hi Monkees, he has a home assessment for pip next week it's a transfer from dla
which he has been getting the highest rate, he has bad copd he was on life support in February we almost lost him he has other health issues and in the past had physcotic depression had electric shock treatment I know he is really genuine and does deserve an award but heard so many refusals and and untruthful assessments that I am dreading the outcome I know from this forum that there is lots of us out there going through this at the moment and I am so glad we all can feel supported by each oth3r will let you all know the outcome
gov.uk/attendance-allowance... This should give you all the information you need. I heard that they are stopping AA so you would be better phoning the DWP
