And I perspire...a great deal...just my head, which is strange...sweat quite literally pours down my face...it isn't nice you know, not nice at all.
Then to cap it all I began coughing yesterday...chest hurt...wobbled about when I walked anywhere...not my chest, that hasn't wobbled for a very long time...it was my legs doing the wobbling.
Think it's time to break into the anti-biotics...I'm not going to start the Devils Smarties though...I do tend to dither as whether or not whatever it is that ails me is justification for taking the anti-biotics...as my chest is still painful and I'm wheezing and rattling, then I think this time it is reason enough.
The bog is on fire again, which certainly can't be helping...then there's been paint and dust and disturbed moulds...
Odd how these infections usually begin at a weekend...

oh vashti, what a pain, literally! It's funny that you are suspicious of the role that the burning, together with dust and disturbed moulds which your building works have caused. I became ill with what turned out to be pneumonia, pleurisy and that empyema during the time that the builders were knocking down walls and had my bathroom floor up. There was so much brick and plaster dust and a very strange damp musty smell when the floorboards came up. I think that you are right to take the abs. At least they could be working over the weekend until you can contact your GP if you want to. I always have the same dillemma. I don't know anything about the devil's smarties because they won't give them to me. I do hope that you feel a bit better after the weekend. Be kind to yourself and if it is fine ( but not too hot) maybe you and himself can take a little trip to some clearer air. xx
Can picture your wobbly legs and (don't mean to be unkind) can't help smiling. Sorry you're not feeling so well though and hope you'll soon be feeling better.
The burning bog and the remaining dust and mould spores will have been responsible for the deterioration in your health.
Weekend or no weekend, if your temperature is up, wouldn't be wise to call the doctor?
I don't know how things work in Ireland, in the uk we have the 111 service where you can talk to a nurse on the phone.
If he/she thinks there is cause for concern, a doctor will call or an appointment made at a Out of Hours Centre
Hello vashti,
I thought when you said the bog was afire and hoped it would not affect your chest, but then there has been toxic pollution to contend with and you have also had other stuff going on in your house disturbing whatever was lying in wait, so no wonder you are rough. Don't let it get the better of you, and hope the antibiotics kick in ....yes ..... weekend again...I swear there is a conspiracy. Get well very soon.
Sorry to hear that you are not feeling well. Paint and fires never a good combination when it comes to bad lungs. I sometimes wear a mask if my neighbour has a barbeque in the garden. We can't seem to win whatever the weather.
Hope you feel better soon.
Malinka
