Didn't think I would be back

Hi all. I'm glad to say that I'm hopefully coming out of the end of a bad bout of pneumonia. It's really knocked me for 6. Had a 2 week stay in hospital 3 lots of antibiotics. Finally got rid of the intravenous anti biotics at home. Now have to have carers coming into sort me out 3 times a day.

I'm in a lot of pain in my chest/ribs which My painkillers and morphine aren't touching.

Would love some encouraging thoughts xx

I had a bad case of pneumonia 3 years ago and landed up in hospital for 3 weeks and was on a non invasive ventilator for about 5 days. I felt I'd never get over it but although it took a few months, get over it I did. Don't worry, it just takes time. I'll be thinking of you.

Hi Lily

So sorry you have had so much to put up with, nasty buissnes pneumonia, you have come through the worst of it thank goodness, I'm surprised the morphine is not touching your chest pain, what are doctors saying about it, I would get it checked if you have not already done so, but really you are strong to come through what you have been through, you are going to be okay, all the best for a speedy recovery, get plenty of rest. Hi Lily. Sorry to hear that you have been in hospital. Glad that you are home again. Always the best healer. I have just returned after 3 lots of antibiotics for lung and pleurisy. My mortgage didn't help my chest pain either. It is a horror. I came back slowly last week and by the end of this week I am bouncing.

I really hope that you have a similar speedy recovery. It took a while to get started but once the antibiotics were over the pain resided within 3 days and the morphine is back doing its job.

Home is always my key to health. Hope you start shining soon and begin to put this horrible event behind you.

Regards Rib

Bless you I've had Pneumonia twice and it does take a while to get over it I didn't ever think I would get better. But you will come out the other end just lots of rest and meds. I tried to take little steps every day.

Get well soon Lily, don't rush it for it will take some time. P xxx

You have had such a bad time - but at least you are home now. I think recovery will be slow - so take it easy, be kind to yourself and give yourself chance to get better. Lots of love TAD xx

Hi Lily, I had pneumonia about three years ago, in hospital for a week, it's an awful illness, but you will get better bit by bit. Try a heat pad on the pain in your ribs, I found it helped me, I used the heat pads you warm up in the microwave, or try a hot water bottle, not too hot though. Wishing you well and take care x x

Hi Lilly, so sorry to hear you have been so poorly, tiny steps are the order of the day, don't try and rush things. It will take a little time but be worth it in the end.

Take care,

Hi Lily 26, so sorry to hear life is being difficult for you. I think all of us here take a bit of a bashing once in a while - but hang on in there , you WILL get through it, - try to be positive , we humans are often much stronger than we think ! , I recently had THREE admissions to Hospital in just over FOR WEEKS ! - as my lungs appeared to be going sideways !, but, I thought to myself - ah, to hell with those little sods ( lungs), down there, - they aint going to get the better of me ! , and now they have started to behave themselves so be a patient patient !! and you'll get your reward ....am thinking of you ....
