Hi & welcome. I use Spiriva & Seritide. I find it very helpful.  Steroids & Antibiotics help with exacerbation's (rescue meds) You may also find a balanced healthy diet & exercise help. There are breath easy groups in most areas & Pulmonary Rehab course. Hope this helps Nan

Hi, it works for me, along with Symbercort, carbocysteine, singulair and tablet and nasal anti allergenics.  I only have steroids and antibiotics when I have  excaccerbations . I think it sometimes takes a while for medicines to work. X

I have ABs & steroids to deal with infections and exacerbations, but if things aren't working for you, talk to  your GP. If that's difficult , see if your GP has a respiratory nurse or get a referral to a COPD team.  I have found the nurses have more time, and get to know you as a person.  They can prescribe meds and make sure that you use your inhalers to best effect.

Hi David , welcome to the site that's a nice picture of you. Spirava works well for most and it is easy to use and only one dose a day to remember. I have been taking it for several years now with no problem except the fiddly packet, it is not too easy to open when you have arthritis in your hands but most containers with drugs in are like this (hard to open) it is for safety purpose after all. Enjoy your day looks like a sunny one.

Hi,welcome,Spiriva is a long acting drug which helps breathing.I have used it for three years with no problems.I,m not sure if one can actually tell it works but one would notice if it did,nt.It is not connected with infections that is the antibiotics and steroids.Good luck.D.

Welcome.  I can endorse what everyone is saying about Spiriva.  It works for me with no side effects, along with Symbicort and Ventilan when needed.

Good luck.
