May I ask - What does a rescue pack consist of. In South Africa as far as I know I've never heard of somebody having it? - Want to get prescription for everything in there. Only thing I'm allergic for is Penicillin

Hi Pietba, I live in Scotland & I have all my inhalers on repeat prescription. That means when I'm nearly finished one or other of my inhalers, I order more from my chemist.
The rescue pack I have is in case I come down with an infection. It means I can start the abs immediately then go to my GP if I need more help. It consists of packs of Amoxicillin & Prednisolone.
Everyone's rescue pack differs & contains the meds they've been prescribed.
I always have a rescue pack in the house.
So if you're allergic to Penicillin, your GP would change that for an antibiotic that suits you.
Hope you are well 🌺
Hello Pietba and Jessy11,
These are the same I have in my rescue pack. My chemist here in the North West of England telephones me to check if I want the same medication every month, Fostair and Salbutamol for me, and then it is delivered two days later. The rescue pack gives you a feeling of confidence - you never know when someone is going to cough or sneeze at you and anything infectious - you can be 100% sure I will get it.
For me its 2 weeks worth of antibiotics and a stack of steroids. To be used when an exacerbation begins so essentially you can self-medicate straight away.
Hi I am allergice to penicillin too so my rescue pack contains doxyclycline and steroids (predisilone). x
I live in Ireland in an isolated cottage...my rescue pack is anti-biotics and steroids...in case I can't get to the Doctors.
Hi, long time no see !
Over here our GP surgeries close on Friday afternoons then re-open on Monday morning. If you're going to come down with something it's bound to be over the weekend or a bank holiday! That's why we have a rescue pack of our antibiotic. Steroids too in case we get a non infection exacerbation. Always take mine away with me.
I have my inhalers on repeat prescription at my local chemist so when I pick them up they keep a record and order it again in a months time and send me a text when they are ready. I get my rescue pack from GP and keep them in my house until I need them
