Naughty but nice

Having woken up after about 2 hours sleep and wide awake I couldn't think what to do so decided to open a rather nice bottle of red wine, then realised I hadn't had a New Year drink so belated Happy New Year to you all and it does taste good.

Hi Snodgrass 🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾

6am and l've just got up...bet your still fast asleep, the splash of hot milk probably made all the difference.

Paracetamol is good for cureing a red wine hangover, or an even better remedy.....open another bottle !!

After all it is your New Years drink...🍾🍾🍾🍾

Xx

Awake now and had breakfast! One of the few advantages of being me is I don't get hangovers, might occasionally feel less than 100% but no headaches etc.

It is good. Mum and son enjoying a middle of the night tipple, sounds very good to me.

Not sure I have the balance of parental authority quite right though! Actually we are more friends than mother/ son which is lovely, except when I want him to do something he doesn't want to do as he just plain doesn't do it!

I'm assuming he's an adult son and if so the whole authority thing is pretty much gone anyhow. It's nice when they come to an age that you can stop having to be in control and really lovely to have that kind of relationship with your son. Enjoy it while it lasts :)

Oh I will. Yes he is adult, failed marriage, came home to help me cope with my husband's dementia and stayed on. Now sees his role as taking care of me, not happy about that but I can't change him. His ex is still one of his best friends they were just too young.

That's sad but good that there's no bitterness there. All my children are sons and I love their company. A lot of people assume that only daughters can be friends with their mum and that boys just love you and leave you. It's a different relationship but one that's just as valuable, IMO.

and to you, but I am doing dry January, I made easy n.y resolutions and that was one of them. fortunately I have been unwell and not even fancied a drop. That was a strange sentence, stick that one in my gratitude diary being thankful for chest infection

I was awake until 5.30 am, worrying about george, now why didn't I think of the soothing effect of alcohol! I have whisky and brandy in the cupboard.

Go for the whisky, brandy is a stimulant! Hot milk, honey and whiskey or a hot toddy with lemon and sugar crusted round rim of glass - heaven. Sorry if I am leading you astray.

Hmm that sounds very tempting, it doesn't take much to lead me astray lol! Not when it comes to food and drink. I am still eating mince pies which I really shouldn't. The metformin seems to stop me being ill when I eat naughty things.

At least there is an upside to the meteor in then! How is George?
