Yesterday evening Molly managed to up end the corner cupboard in the bathroom. There are four shelves...each crowded with pots and potions and lotions...the usual sort of stuff that one finds in bathrooms...they ended up all over the floor...
Himself let rip with several Anglo-Saxon swear words...Molly threw herself on the floor and waved her legs in the air...Murphy hid under the 'fridge...
That wasn't the worst of it though...I think Molly was so alarmed by the noise she'd created that she wet herself...
It's actually really hard to find the actual pee you know...I could smell it, even with my nasal prongs up my nose...but tracking it down was easier said than done...in the end we just cleared everything out...laundry basket, mat etc. and then Himself sloshed half a bottle of eco cleaner about and mopped furiously...
She didn't care...sat on my tummy and pounded away with some vigour before growing bored and then she leapt to the top of the wardrobe and went to sleep...
Murphy crept out of his hiding place, he cheered up when he saw some little midges flying about...hasn't a hope of catching them, but it keeps him amused for ages.
Molly makes mad dashes out of the back door...she's determined to go outside and we're equally determined she's not going to...she does escape sometimes but Himself is fast and scoops her up and deposits her back in the cottage before she has time to catch her breath...
We get the drama queen side then...flinging herself dramatically to the floor...she really does throw herself down...then she waves her legs about as though she's doing yoga...because she looks so silly we laugh and I swear she plays on our reaction.
Murphy is totally different...he's quite plump and rather staid...he doesn't do leaping or door dashing nor does he practice cats yoga...he does eat lettuce though...doesn't care for tuna but likes cream cheese...Murphy sinks his teeth into Himself's hands when he picks him up...the more Himself says ow, the harder Murphy bites...he doesn't do that with me. He doesn't pound and he doesn't purr much...he only miaows when he'd like fresh water to drink...won't touch the water in the bowl if the dogs have been there first...
When Molly purrs, I bet the neighbours can hear her...she's so loud... she doesn't so much miaow as wail...she never bites and never extends her claws...she likes cream cheese as well but she prefers hers on a cracker or one of those thin cheesy biscuits broken up into small pieces...Molly dips her paw into the water bowl before she has a drink...her latest game is to pull the bowl across the kitchen floor with one small paw...water slopping everywhere.
The two little cats have given us such pleasure...no matter how awful Molly is or how Murphy is such a big girls blouse we wouldn't be without them.
