Mixed connective tissue disorder. Thank you
Hi Crager, welcome to our forum. I'm sorry I'm unable to help but I'm willing to listen if you have any problems.
Am I right in saying you have Mixed Connective Tissue Disease (also known as Sharp's syndrome)? It is an autoimmune disease in which the body's defense system attacks itself.
I don't know anything about this condition but if you want to tell us a bit more about how it affects you, I'm sure someone will be able to help you.
Don't suffer in silence, talk to us 🌺
As the others have said be a little more informative as to what is your issues, as some of the symptoms we could hopefully answer rather than the overall condition. I see it is similar on some points with Lupus which my sister has and the lung issues there are a lot on here with them and we all have a way of coping most of the time. We all have something to share.
Be Well
Crager make sure you get optimum dosing for your thyroid, many are not given enough as Doctors think if your bloods are in range then you are OK, but Doctors don't realize we are all different and cannot feel how we actually feel. If I relied on how much Levothyroxine my Doctor was only willing to prescribe me I would still be unwell now.
Go over to Thyroid UK here on Health Unlocked to make sure you get to optimum medication and also if thyroid down other bloods can be down too, or low in range, which Doctors do not acknowledge, we have to sort those ourself, such as low or deficient vitamin B12, vit D, iron, ferritin (stored iron) and folate too.
Back on again like I said I started on thyroid med also a year ago started on testosterone injections . Was feeling better , then Doctor retired got a new endocrologist . She had me stop because blood count was to hi ,now back to being tired ,still on prednisone , I see my remetologist tomorrow . Have to have a good talk , just want to get back on track . Have to wait a month for the other Doctor , just getting confused thanks
Crager, there are many reasons why you are not doing well on thyroid medication, one example might be that if you are on T4 only, many do not convert non active T4 to active T3.
If you are still feeling unwell after seeing medics even endos, do drop in on the Thyroid Uk community (on here, Health Unlocked)
