Can anybody tell me, I have copd and my breathing is very bad first thing in a morning, is this the norm

Have you been sent to a respiratory Clinic to be put on the right medication

No not yet I am waiting to see consultant for the first time on wednesday

That's good they will put you on the right medication you should be given different tests x

What tests I have had chest X-ray and my gp did a spiro can't spell it the one where you blow into

They will do all those test again to get the right information and put you on the right medication COPD affects people differently x

It's because the comfortable position that you sleep in, is generally not a good position to get lung fulls of air. Because you are asleep, you body is quite happy with the situation because you aren't making any great demands for energy. When you get up and start moving, your body is playing catch up, especially if you start to dress before getting your breathing going. The answer is to sit on the edge of the bed and do a few minutes breathing exercises before greeting the morning and kicking the cat.
