Don't worry, i have the exact same thing. I have a 14mm nodule, which the lung consultant told me has the appearance of ground glass, his advice was if you can live with it, theres no need to have surgery, if you are going to get troubled by it then they will cut it out via keyhole surgery. I choose to live with it.
These things are quite common. Until pet scans etc., they would not have been discovered.
They dont interfere with breathing or lung function, they will keep a close eye on it for three years, scanning every three months.
Hope I have helped calm your fears.
Yes this wasfound on my PET Scan didn't how on x-ray or HRCT. Think the PET Scan also found another tiny nodule too and probably nothing to worry about as so small it will either go away or take a long while to grow into anything that would affect me - though it could be doing so already of course so guess they will have to sort it out somehow. Looking forward to that.

Don't worry. Everything is happening as it should and they will find out what it is soon enough and can then treat it. Try and remember that worrying serves no purpose.
I have that too think it is in the bottom of my right lung that one but with all the other things going on no one really interested at the moment - only found out by accident that it was there as asked my GP if I could have a copy of all the letters I have had from consultants and it was in one of them - consultant said he had discussed it with me but he didn't and my partner was there at the time and is sure it wasn't mentioned. Mind in the same letter he says I was admitted to hospital twice in my mid thirties - Nope 16 for ingrowing toe nail. 21 for asthma exacerbation. 47 for fibroid embolisation brilliant it worked! 49 for bleeding problems. So wonder if he was talking about the same person? I have also been aged 64 and 33 in the last few letters from November last year - I mean I am in there at 55 but neither is close to my actual age! You have to laugh! writing long letter to Doc pointing out the long list of mistakes I have found in these letters - at the moment I have a list stretching for 2 sides of A4 paper and will be looking through again for minor mistakes next! Definitely going to record future consultations as it is ridicullous.
Am sure everything will go OK for you. Let us know how you get on.
Good Luck
Love and hugs
