Our Cottage...!
Awww, that really is pretty,a typical cottage, the roses are beautiful, it looks larger than you have described in some of your posts.
It is small honestly...the rooms are tiny...lol
Probably the dog rose. It's usually used to graft hybrids from. So a lot of the " posher " roses you see all owe it to the dog rose.
As far as I remember anyway !
A few years ago since I went to college
Not the wild Dog rose...this is a cultivar...probably a Dorothy Perkins.
It's lovely, home sweet home! it looks so cosy and peaceful
Thank you Huffer...it's quiet certainly!
Beautiful cottage. It looks so tranquil. Thanks for sharing xx
Thank you Lyn...
Omg, I love it...so cozy looking. Are you in Ireland? My grandparents were from Ireland and that looks very similar to what the outside of their cottage looked like.
Yes...we live in the North-West of Ireland...it's a pretty enough place to be
That is gorgeous, just like you described I knew your village would look something like that. Keep up the blogs.

Do you leave out saucers of milk for the elves, pixies and fairies?
Certainly not! You should never interfere with the Faeire...lol
just lovely! Jan xx
Thanks Jan...xxx
That is so lovely Vashti.
Thank you xxx
Sweet enough for a chocolate box! wonder if the rose is a Dorothy Perkins, came out in 1901 double rose pink with no fragrance. Very pretty rambler.
I do think you're right about the rose Lyd...it grows in huge profusion most years...I'll start referring to it as a Dorothy Perkins.
If you google Dorothy Perkins rose there are some lovely images and under the Jackson and Perkins wikipedia it tells about the hybridizer who named the rose after his grand-daughter. iris x
It seems ideal. I envy you.

Malinka
Just the right choices made at the right time...and a deal of hard work!

You can come for tea...just give me a months notice to get rid of the dust bunnies...lol
I keep your pic's Vashti, so now I can almost see how your lovely home looks from the back and the front. Beautiful, just beautiful, I'm very jealous.
Incidentally, your front garden is about the same size as my back garden is now!
I too have a Mazda...great cars aren't they? lol.
That car just keeps going...whoops...shouldn't have said that I suppose...lol
What a pretty cottage Vashti. It looks very homely and cosy. Thanks for sharing. xxxx
Oh how lovely.
How much would you charge for a week rental
We have a little shed? It's a very nice little shed...lol
i love sheds x
So pretty. Where do you live Vashti?
We live in North-West Ireland...about 30 miles from the Atlantic ocean...
WOW! It is lovely. We live in West Wales in an old barn which was converted back in the 80's Will post a photo one day. Haven't got many apart form when we have all our plant pots and baskets out and not doing that this year as just don't feel well enough. We are about a mile from the Irish Sea here and used to walk to the sea regularly but we have to walk either down (and then back up) a steep hill or steep steps so haven't done that for a while.
How charming and beautiful xx
Ah. A bit too far away for me to make out. Thanks for the info.
If I ever get to Ireland I will bring some hogweed for the bunnies lol
