Here's a photo from the front of my house in 2006, still the same this morning! This is part of the photos I use as screen saver. That's why you see my calendar too!

Frosty scene
Hi Mik, what a lovely photo...I can see why you have it as a screen saver. Looks very cold but beautiful with the white frost on the hedgerow. Do you live in a rural location?
Dear Lovelight, I couldn't call whitstable a rural location. it is an interesting location. It's the end of the road! beyond thos clumps of trees which I love is the Thames estuary. You can walk 5 minutes and find yourself along the mighty river + other rives that go into it to swell it.
People call Swalecliffe, the village. there are others that pepper the banks of the estuary until Ramsgate. Nature has kept it beautiful. Swalecliffe is actually a site of scientific interest. A rare type of fennel grows and houses a rare type of butterfly. In the summer, larks ascend! It's still the place where bird watchers walk in all their gear, complete with telescope. Turner must have walked along the beach path, since he painted the skies - the gold in the sky is the pollution over London!
I tend to agree with the legend that people with asthma move here and recover. I like to think so (for my own sake, hahaha!)
We are famous for Peter cushing who came to live here because his wife was asthmatic. Somerset Maugham didn't like Whitstable, because he had a rather dour uncle vicar!
The current vicar is not dour at all; he likes singing. We are a welcoming bunch. People learn to smile here! Our little village is teh cause of it!
it looks very, very chilly michael, but there something about these frosty mornings , they look so magical in some way,,

The day I took this was going to the coldest year we ever had in 2010. I was very cold. I had done battle with the council to strengthen the windows which let the wind howling through, I was getting colder and colder.
Not now, thank God. Now they gave me a new boiler and the windows are sound against the howling North wind. I am happy. Hope you are too, JImmy.
Lovely scene and looking as it should in December. I am now seeing 13 and 14 degrees by Wednesday which is crazy! Stay well. xxxx
Hi mic, lovely pic, I love to see everything covered in frost or snow, although cold everywhere looks clean and fresh. I have fields and trees behind my house looks stunning in the mornings. X Sonia x
My friend in France say that winter is Spring in gestation. Everything waits and slowly grows inside before bursting with joy and happiness and colours.
We also hope for better days ourselves, our souls are working inside us to make us better!
Just keep cosy....Brrrrrrr.......
How lovely...I do love a winter scene.
I can feel the chill from here! Beautiful picture.
Lovely picture! xxx
I took a couple of photos last week the sky was so red (sign of bad weather ahead) I'd like to post them on here but haven't a clue how to do that. Red sky in morning shepherds warning, ( I think that's the saying) it certainly turned out to be true, flipping freezing it was. Chris x
Lovely Mic, Jack Frost's been busy. Big frost down the road last night too but it seems to have melted now. I can just imagine myself in your picture with the sounds of a flute wafting from a nearby window . . .
Take good care
I'm growing long, fleecy hair, so I can protect myself from Mr Frost!
How sweet Mic. You'll look like a sheep We can use any extra to make woolly jumpers
Looks like a lovely 'crisp morning ' x I used to like to go out for a walk on days like this x
Its a bit chilly for a kilt Jimmy
