Desert Cactus and Country Scene.

Desert Cactus are the large ones. the cactus with the yellow flower is called Opuntia - Anne is the expert not me.

I have done these on 8 inch square canvas, so little chance forshade, so small the picture could have looked dirty. The cactus picture was different with the darker colours.

Thank you Snowdrops_17 - Painting helps - I like painting sheep and in particular lambs - I think I need larger canvas, I seemed to have got used to the 8" one. Cactus I should know lol, our houshold has hundreds, in greenhouse that is 😀🐑

What a sweet lamb. i always wanted an opuntia, but never got round to acquiring one. I have half a dozen cacti on the landing windowsill + 2 refugees from bring and buys which have to make do with my bedroom windowsill. (Better than the rubbish bin.) My oldest cactus is 70 years old, considerably older than my daughter. xxxx

Anne had over 200 in a greenhouse, and a small polyhouse. She is always in there.

I have a spider plant and rhoicissus which are 50 years old. We grow old together - though the plants are in better nick.😀🌸🌱🌵

My spider plants just do not survive. They must enjoy being with you very much. xx

I call the senior spider plant Fred. Perhaps that's what makes the difference. xx

I don't name my spider plants, maybe that is whythe die -I usedtobe able to grow them, not for any legnth of time these days. I like rubber plants, have one 8 foot lall in the living room. xx

Alberta56 profile image
Alberta56 in reply toErn007

Gosh! I used to try to keep rubber plants while I was still living at home. My parents' house was cold and damp and the leaves fell off one by one. Very sad.

Ern007 profile image
Ern007 in reply toAlberta56

I have had luck with them, other house plants bar Weeping Fig - Before I came tp village a rubber plant was on it way over the ceiling. Anne put her foot down, it was gone. It did look odd I must admit, but I loved it.x

That's smaller than my children's book covers.

Love the hues you've used on the desert cactus painting.

Hi Ern🙋‍♀️, thank you for sharing these lovely paintings. I love the sheep 😊. Sharing these when you're feeling so poorly just shows your inner strength. Hope someone can help you with your oxygen question. 😊❤️❤️xxx

Thank you Nula 2 -I am at doctors tomorrow, with my current medication I would not be allowed oxygen, I am hoping for some other treatment, rather than changing meds.xx

Ern007 profile image
Ern007 in reply toNula2

That will be hard Nula2 - My options are limited - Some years ago I was rushed to hospital as my pulse was all over, I was having a ventricular tachycardia episode and I collased in bed - next thing I new lots of people round the bed, I am unsure if I was ressusitated or not, something had happed, my heart rate had been off the scale, for some reason they would not tell me how fast - problem was with my chest conditions all they could offer was Amioderone -as that did not repress breathing, it attacked and ruined my thyroid and it could be part of my worstening lung problems, nasty drug but it kept me here. I will update when I have a plan one way or another.

Nula2 profile image
Nula2 in reply toErn007

Wow Ern, what a lot to take in to consideration. If they can offer you something it seems it will still leave you weighing up the odds before you can make a decision one way or the other. ❤️❤️xxx

Ern007 profile image
Ern007 in reply toNula2

I am seeing her 3-10 PM and they have given me a double appointment - Being realistic, I don't have a clue - I discared my rescue packs as I did not want Pred with blood thinners, I may well find that's an option. My problem is breathing a lot of the time, so going to let her do the thinking. I will do an update late, other things need to be taken into consideration. I would weigh up the odds for sure xxX

Will be good to know how it goes. Let us know when you feel up to it. xxx

Ern007 profile image
Ern007 in reply toNula2

Yes will be giving an update - my sats are normal for me, I have to go for an echo, she thinks that could be a problem. xxx

Country and Western. Just need to add the music. Your cactus at the front is also a CATCUS. Two ears, two yellow eyes and a face in the mountain behind. Wonderful. Again a light and dark painting contrast. Thank you. xx
