After last weeks visit to the QE I was told by the consultant that he was happy to put me back on the transplant list after an infection had finally cleared up from an abscess removal operation. They normally send a letter of confirmation and phone you to say you have been activated live on the list but this never happened so I thought I had better give them a ring and make 100% sure. I spoke to a co-ordinator who confirmed I had been put on the list on the day I was checked by the consultant which is what I thought but doubts had crept in and I needed to be sure.
Hey this means I can have a 2nd celebration doesn't it
I also saw the consultant yesterday who removed the Abscess from my bum, oucha!! and he said I can finally stop the Co-amoxiclav 500/125 antibiotic 3 times a day that I have been taking for over a year so its good news all round. Another reason to celebrate yeh'.
I'm off to dads now to see what wildlife I can film for the Healthunlockeders and also to see if I can scrounge some of his home grown grub. . Better for you than any Antibiotic I say.

Good morning Tobydoo, basically to get on the transplant list, your lung consultant refers you to the transplant team if he thinks you fit the criteria and then they decide if your ill enough to need a transplant but fit enough to survive the operation. Its a strange position to be in, you cant be to ill and the rest of your body has to be in pretty good shape as they do lots of tests before they make their decision. The whole process can take around 6 months and it certainly tests your resolve and strength of mind, you really have no idea which way its going to go until they tell you your live and activated on the list.
Look after your self TD and stay as healthy as possible.
Thanks Louisiana, its been a long wait trying to get back on and I was beginning to have doubts if I ever would but thanks to my practice nurses dealing with the abscess situation they got me there in the end. Whew!!!
I am so pleased for you Tony, especially knowing how hard you have worked to get back there. I am also pleased you have finally lost the extra bum bit! Don't party too hard. xx
Hi Toci, I cant party too hard as the phone could ring at any time and they may not be happy if I turned up under the influence of my own Westons cider anesthetic. My practice nurses and at weekends the district nurses have worked on that dam abscess almost every day for 5 months so I'm pretty pleased its finally finished with now. I'm back on track for the big one now so we will wait and see whats in stall.
Thanks Kimmy, its been a long wait but finally we got there in the end so now the waiting begins again!
Tony xxxx
Oh young Tony, what marvellous news, soo happy for you,I think you & the childbride better have a night out to celebrate!
You have worked so hard to get back there,so here's to hoping you don't have to long to wait,so glad your btm finally healed, you have had to be very patient!
Lovely photo of your Dad & his veggies,I'm sure they keep you healthy. No doubt they keep him healthy as well!
Big hug to you, prayers with you, keep up your wonderful positive
4 years ago I was stuck in a hospital bed for months looking at a brick wall so since then I have found waiting for anything very easy no matter how long it takes. This comes in very handy when your on the transplant list.
As for Dads veggies, well they haven't done him any harm so it shows the value of eating healthily, its a very good reason for regular visits and who knows one day I may be able to help him dig that garden again.
I bet things are warming up nicely over your way just now, we have had the best summer for years here but winter is looming on the horizon which will probably be a good time for a transplant op and recovery so I'll be fit for the next summer. Roll on the summer 2015 UK when anything could be possible eh'
Thanks wendells for being a brilliant Healthunlockeder.
Thanks pergola, I take some holding now so given the chance anything will be possible. Got a day of lawn mowing and cutting back ahead today so I should sleep well tonight. Tony xxx
Brilliant news Tony ! You are the perfect candidate due to your own hard work and determination. I hope it happens as soon as possible and thrn we can really break out the virtual champagne on HU.
That'll be quite a celebration wouldn't it, If I get the call then it'll be time for the Healthunlockeders to stock up the cooler and get ready to party yeh'
Hi Sohara, sorry I took so long answering your reply but that's my fault for sending to many posts together and getting loads more reply's than expected.
At this point no one can say when and if I'll get the chance of a transplant because its all on availability and whether their a match for you. The phone may never ring or it could ring now so that's how it is when your on the transplant list.
A'll I can do is stay as fit as possible to give myself the best possible chance of getting through it and knowing I have the support of you and the healthunlockeders behind me is a massive boost.
If I get the call I'll let you know before I leave and you and the gang can start Praying for me cause I'm gonna need all the help I can get ok!
Oh dearie me no! I'm so very pleased you're on the list again - it's well deserved and I shall continue to admire your adventures. I promise you that, if I start walking again, I will take you up on your offer!
Despite being ill enough to make the transplant list I'm always happy Farmer D, shouldn't be but I am and as for eating well, my Dads sorting that for me.
Hey Tony! What great news I've missed! Just thought I'd browse through days I had without internet and seen your post! I'm so pleased for you rock on Tony! xxx
Thanks HP, its good to be back on again after such a long suspension and I feel better now I'm off the co-amoxiclav antibiotics I've been taking for over a year. It say's on the box not to take for more than 2 weeks!!! so that was a little worrying.
All I need now is the QE to ring and say come on down!!!!
Glad your back on the Net HP, these computers are annoying when they won't work arn't they!
Tony xx oh yep still rocking
