This morning I phoned the doctors at 10:30am to book an appointment with a particular doctor, I am book in today, yes today, at 3:20pm with my doctor of choice. Wow. Thought it would be next week. Just wanted to post a positive for GP's

Kindest Regards

I've given up trying to gain Drs appt by phone, kept on hold forever, can't afford phone charges, get cut off, offered appts weeks away etc.

The clinic's just a few mins walk from my house, so its much better to go to reception & ask for appt face to face.

I'm always leaning on rollator in queue, so they can see I'm in genuine need - nothing like 'seeing = believing' etc

Usually can obtain same day attention via their triage system.

Yeah this is what I normally face that's why today I was really surprised. My free good feeling didn't last as explained in bad things happen.

Keep well

Hi Ohtwo

Well done you for getting an appointment on the day and with the doctor you favour. My GPs surgery is getting a bit better with appointments but not as good as yours. I hope the illness that is taking you to the Doctor's today is not too serious.

Have a Good Day

Thank you for your concern. I was going to get my medication changed and to ask for a nasal spray to help with oxygen burns. All was well until I went to get the prescription where I found out she had not added the nasal spray. I now have to go back on Monday. Oh well such is life and there's me trying to praise them. I have to say though my GP is brilliant when I get to see her.

Enjoy your weekend

That was great Ohtwo and nice to hear. Pete usually manages to get in to see our doctor fairly easily as the receptionists know him now. Not sure if that is a good thing or not. Hope your appointment goes well. xxx

Thank you, my appointment went OK, although my GP left an item off my prescription so I now have to go back on Monday. I think I opened my mouth to soon. I bet your Pete charms the receptionist, Ha Ha. Enjoy your weekend

Since I've been attending the local clinic, I do go there much more frequently now I'm 'ill' !! - I don't think I'm turning into a hypochondriac! - but as other mentioned above, becoming more familiar to the staff definitely has had a positive effect on the way I'm received & treated by them than when I transferred there 3 years back
