Yes I have once or twice. So mild that at first wondered if I had imagined it. The other thing that has started happening to me just before I fall asleep I get jerks sometimes once sometimes more. Anywhere arm, leg, neck, tummy.

Hi juliekkay, yes I have also had this very strange tingling pins and needles weird feeling, have tryed finding out on internet what it is but nothing really out there.

Will watch this post see if we get any answers.

Take care x

Hi Julie,I have had this a few times and around the mouth..Paramedics told me its because I was over breathing..Since I have been on Oramorph to slow my breathing , I have been fine..Breathe in for 6 , out for 12...Hope your ok hun ?Oh and, celery the best thing ever for water retention.xxx

I also think this is caused by overbreathing (too fast and too shallow) porche296 has given you good advice on breathe in for 6 and out for 12, or however many you can manage, as long as the out breath is twice as long as the in breath.

I have suffered from tingling in my legs which can be as chronic as the feeling something is crawling under my skin since last year and non of the medical specialist can identify the problem. often disturbs my sleep patterns !!!

thanks all. Makes sense either its circulation or breathing overmuch or too much mouth breathing methinks ... will close my mouth more and do the slower breathing and more out than in consciously today. I have been anxious and down while this tingling is happening too.

Juliekay,

I think breathing through the nose is better as the air gets moisturised and warmed up through the nose.

I have tingles when I start having a cold sore!

Your lips are not getting blue, are they?

in reply tohelingmic

Just looked ... They unusually redder than usual ... usual is reddy purple!

I usually get that just before a cold sore appears

Pins and needles around the lips are probably most often caused by *temporary* drop of blood calcium levels (hypocalcemia), which is most commonly caused by hyperventilation (exercise, severe anxiety...).

*Constant* tingling can result from other causes of hypocalcemia

nutrientsreview.com/mineral...

If the cause of hypocalcemia is a certain disease, you would also likely experience constipation and muscle cramps.

Allergic reaction to foods can cause similar sensation, but more likely itching than tingling.

Migraine and seizures may also be a cause.

A detailed article about tingling is here:

online.epocrates.com/u/2912...

When tingling is caused by narrowed arteries or heart failure, you would very likely experience fatigue and bluish skin either on the face or in fingers.

In anemia, you would again experience obvious fatigue and you would have pale skin.

I look better than have during infections recently. All curious.

I have pins and needles in my hands right butt and right foot I have had to have all the taps changed to lift up ones my old man would turn off the taps and I couldn't turn them on. My hands are caused by carpal tunnel but not sure about the butt or foot.

I have had pins and needles for a very long time in my hands, it is due to damaged shoulders, at night i hang them out of bed which helps a certain amount, but there is no real cure.

Tingling in the lips happens to me as a mild allergic reaction to something I have ingested. Vinegar and Citric acid do it to me and Strawberries do it for my daughter.
