Dr knows best. If Dr is worried after tests will refer you to liver specialist just to be safe. If you do have liver disease it can take years to get worse. I have had it for about 10yrs and am on Urso (shortened!) to keep bile ducts open so it is not always as bad as you fear just more tablets and observation. Keep diet as healthy as possible not too much fat and sugar. Good luck at Dr's sometimes enzymes just go up because of mens or being unwell and goes down again. Tell Dr everything. Meds not mens!

Hi operatic cheers yer hope its nothing to worry about

Something else to worry about Daz! I swear by the vitamin B and C - the Vitamin C certainly cant do you any harm and apparently has very good anti-inflammatory properties. Good Luck, TAD xx

The Liver is a strange bit of human kit. It can and does take a bit of a pounding but when in a good state it can repair it's self.

I am not sure of the correct figures but I read that it can be very damaged and still be ok but it can reach a certain point and is unrepairable.

Hope it was just a clitch but get it sorted.

Be Well

in reply toOffcut

Hi offcuts i hope so .... might be speed wobble but wil be seeing doc next week over plan of action .... just tad concerned as need antibiotics as am sure had virus but not chest infection ... and dont want me liver finishing off as do need my antibiotics .... wouldn't mind but doc given that was not going to give me any

Oh dear ....i have had elevated liver enzymes for the last five years ...after every chest infec dr took bloods all i was asked "are you a drinker!!" Its only this year theyve actually thought oh could be all related and are doing more tests. Alpha 1 symptoms canbe elevated liver enzymes and reacurring chest infections along with asthma type symptoms that dont respond to typical treatments ...all of which ive had !!

They can also be sign of inflamation in body . Hope all comes clear and you get sorted judith x

in reply totigershay1

Hi tigersay1 yer was reading that but dont think am Alpha 1 As never had lung problems or asthma ... and not a drinker but a do hope its not sepsis inflamation in body ... am sure infection would of come up on blood test tho

cheers thanks

Oh Gawd, another thing to worry about...... You've reminded me of something I'd completely forgotten. The one time I was taken to Kingston A&E for pneumonia, dehydration etc they were more concerned about my liver blood test results. Though probably the result of all the antibiotics and painkillers at the time.

It never ends does it Daz, all the best, Peeg

in reply topeege

Hi cheers peeg no it never ending ... its quite a pain but am just glad am here with what ever quality of life i have

Try not worrying so much I have extensive liver damage managed by very caring doctors the same as my lungs are looked after by another department. Newly diagnosed we are unsure what everything means but soon becomes normal routine welcome into the club dazisnotsogood we are all here for support.

Hi Daz

You do seem to be having a rough time. I had no idea that lung problems could affect the liver. I hope they can reassure you that it's not anything serious. The liver is quite good at repairing itself unless the damage is too far advanced. Take care

in reply topatty17

Hi patty17 cheers yer am just hoping its speed wobble or paracetamol causing it .... thanks cheers

Dear Daz, I hope your doctor shows you the result shows you the result AND explain what you should do. I did learn tht the liver is a tough cookie. Unless you are an alcoholic through and through and swinging on the bottle all day long ( I know you are not!), your liver should mend itself well. I should take vit C, but I forget. I don't think Vit C are harmful, except if you take too many of them, then your body react and you are on the loo all the time!

As usual, ask your doctor what should happen now. Get better soon.

in reply tohelingmic

Hi helingmic yer am seeing doc next week .... already had heart trace surpose that was to rule out heart problems ..... but yer a hoping its nothing really just worry about my antibiotics and liver

anyway cheers thanks
