I think you need to see your GP, and ask for referral and tests. Do you get infections. It might be an idea to ring the BLF nurse. Click on "about us" for tel. no.
Hi faceone. Sounds like your lungs have become very sensitive to irritants in your work environment. There has to be a reason for this. This is a worry for you. Have you had an Xray to eliminate infections or otherwise and to put your mind at rest. Pergola 1's advice is good. It may be a result of the thyroid but you need to know. All the Best.
Hi faceone
Agree with pergola re asking your GP to refer you to a respiratory consultant. It sounds as though your job is agrivating your lungs and I would be inclined to ask advice re your work situation. Any chance of HR finding a kinder job for your lungs if necessary.

If you have been diagnosed with a lung condition, the reaction you are having to exposure of the situations you describe would be classic intolerance.
If you stop coughing when removed from those situations that make you cough......
If you experience shortness of breath, find walking becoming more difficult, you are tiring more....
I would ask your doc for a referral to a respiratory consultant for investigation.
If you have been diagnosed already with a lung condition, then ask your gp for a referral to a pr course.
If you have a lung condition, the pr course will help you realise your work environment is not a good place to be.
Check with blf helpline for further advice (click on red balloon top right for contact details)
Good luck at the docs, do phone helpline b4 you go.
Best wishes BC
Hi, been to the doctors and they had to me to try the brown inhaler for a month, if that does not work then they are going to referral to the hospital, but just found out that this doctor is leavingwhich does not help, but hope the brown inhaler will work.
