after being left in limbo after my copd diagnoses just at the start of lockdown 2020 and a couple of telephone consultations. due to Covid.
Last Nov & Dec 22, I picked up a virus the second one Dec left me with a really bad chest infection or so I thought, after asking for help on here, contacted GP who gave me a course of antibiotics I asked if I could have a rescue pack as some here kindly suggested, told no you have to get a referral from GP & GP told me I need a referral from a respiratory nurse here we go on the merry go round again.
I demanded I see someone & saw the res nurse 2 weeks ago who fast tracked me for suspected head & neck cancer. I constantly have thick sticky phlegm stuck in my throat that I can’t clear and causes food to get stuck on the phlegm which I have to cough up but it doesn’t seem to come from my lungs I have always had sinus problems as did my father the nurse checked my lungs and said they’re okay no rattling or wheezing, my left eye swells up & is painful I am also getting migraines at least every other day plus nose bleeds not big ones more or less every day.Last year I was under ENT for balance problems had a ct scan of my ears to see if it was an inner ear problem no it wasn’t I know I’m not right something is going on so asked ENT to be referred to neurology which he agreed that was last sept not heard anything to date.I am so frightened as the nurse said she felt a swelling in my neck.I’m wondering if all the separate problems I have are connected and paint a bigger picture?Thank You! all I couldn’t have done it without your help.Kind RegardsHilary

I’m so sorry to read your post Hilary. You need help and support to find out exactly what’s going on not just be left like this. Please demand to have everything properly investigated and take someone along with you if possible.
Please let us know how you get on. Thinking of you. Xxx
Hilary, just put one foot in front of the other. Tomorrow starts the journey to a bit more clarity we hope. The lead up to these things is always horrid.
Fingers crossed for you tomorrow.
Oh Hilary how awful for you. Again a GP neglecting their duty of care towards a patient! If a nurse could pick up on this a GP certainly should have if they had taken you seriously. Thank goodness that the nurse has fast tracked you so hopefully you will find out quickly that it isn't the worst. And if it is you will get speedy treatment. I will be thinking about you. Do let us know how you go on.x
Morning Hilary. Bit late in reading your post. All I want to say is will be thinking about you today and wishing, hoping for a positive 🙏 outcome. Sending love ❤ and hugs 🫂. Dawn.xx 🥰
hello Hilary, I'm so sorry to read your post but thank goodness for that nurse! You're probably on your way to the hospital by now so we're all thinking of you and hoping there's an easily treatable diagnosis and not the cancer of head and neck that you're worried about. Sending big love and very best wishes ❤ 💐 🌹 🌸 🌼 💐 Penelope
Good morning Hilary. So sorry to hear you have these problems and it's gone on so long. Hope everything goes well with your appointment and please try not to overthink too much. Until you get a correct diagnosis. I know we all think the worst but. Hope all is going to be sorted for you. Take care. Brian
Oh Hilary, you’ve got a lot going on here, which needs investigation. You’ve been told the worst case scenario, but all these symptoms could have come together coincidentally. At least if you’ve been fast tracked for bone and neck cancer, you’ll be on the 2 week pathway so things will move quickly with tests. Please let us know how you get on.
