Sad, sad, news indeed. No words can say how much the world of popular music owes to this man more eloquently than listening to the music he made with his brother.

I was a bit young when they were popular but have very fond memories of my sister, 7 years older, playing their records at home over and over. And, at 10 or 11, I thought they were so handsome. Wonder how long he'd had copd? x

It's very sad Jambo. He was only three years older than me and I grew up with their music. Happy days.

All the musicians in Edinburgh are organising a quiet drink in his honour.

Many of us who played the circuit always played our sets including the Everley Bros music.

RIP Phil your music lives on.

so sad i loved there music and songs but never knew phil had copd did not even know he smoked has seen a lot of clips by them chatting and things

mind you i did not know kenny ball had copd who died recently

i am hearing so many people who have or had this copd that i cant beleive that i had never heard of it until i got.

it just hope one day in the future they may find a cure

I would love to have gone BUT, I am down with an infection and darned sinusitis so I have missed the party.

But some of the lads came round to see me and have a blether.

As I don`t drink alcohol and no longer able to play the circuit`s it was nice of them to bother.
