Hi all I'm playing Nurse again. This time for my Husbands bad tummy. He was up all night in pain. I spoke to the Hospice at seven this morning and then the Dr later. The Dr came in and made him his first call. It's all down to a narrowing of his bowel which we already know about. There isn't much they can do for it. Co-codamol and Movicol is all we can give. They can't operate either because of the state of his lungs. Lets hope it doesn't get that bad. I have had four hours sleep and am shattered. Mike has slept quite a bit all day. Has everyone had a good Christmas and Boxing Day? Yeah! I have. X

Hi Mavis, sorry to here about your hubby especially over the Christmas period. Its bad enough living with IPF let alone other conditions at the same time.

I know its tricky to operate on us with weak lungs so we end up living with things that could otherwise be sorted out. Keep up the nursing as I'm sure your very good at it and I hope your husband improves ready to enjoy the New Year.

Tony x Happy New Year both of you.

Hi Tony. Thanks for your post. We both had a good night last night. I went to sleep about eleven and got up at quarter to eight. I wish I could sleep like that every night. Mike went to bed at nine o clock and got up at eight o clock. He is much better now. He still has a little pain. We now know he has to take his Movicol every day. Have you heard any more about going on the list? Mavis. X

Oh love what can I say! Hope you get a bit more sleep tonight and I hope Mike gets some relief from his pain. Take good care with love TAD xx

Hi Kaitie. We had a lovely Christmas Day and nearly all Boxing Day. He started his pains about five o clock on Boxing Day but they never became really bad until Boxing night. So it wasn't too bad. He's not going to get ill again this year. I have made it a rule. Ha! Ha! You take care. X. Mavis.

Hi Suzy. We have had a much better day today. My Husband is a little sore but otherwise ok. We had a quiet day. Sitting around watching TV. I did have to go out to do my shopping. The weather here was quite good as well. When I came out of the Supermarket it was dark and the temperature had dropped to three degrees. By the time I got home my hands were freezing. X Mavis.

Thanks Onamission. He certainly was in trouble. By the time the Dr came he was feeling a little better so he didn't see him at his worst. He may have sent him in Hospital if he had. He is much better today and is only a little sore. We have had a quiet day today and last night we slept like babies. X

Hi Stitch. I know what you mean about the mood thing. Christmas was the same as usual but it doesn't feel the same. My mind goes to the same thing wherever I am. Mike is the same. It just doesn't go away. The poor thing got no sleep at all. At least I got four hours before I knew he was in trouble. We have had a quiet day today sat watching TV. He's still a little sore but ok otherwise. X

You're right Stitch. He was nearly in hospital with it. The trouble is they can't operate because of the state of his lungs. I definitely will make sure he takes his Movicol. X

Hi Bev. How are you? We had a bit of a worrying moment yesterday. He is much better today. Still a bit sore. We did have a good Christmas Day but Boxing Day he started to get pains about four o clock. They weren't to bad till he went to bed. If its not one thing it's another. Did you have a good Christmas? X
