Pleased for you i hate my leash take care
Hi Ant. I am sorry to hear that you are retaining CO2. Have they taken you off oxygen totally? Is it not possible to use a lower flow rate? It seems like it was only a short while ago that you wrote to me saying that you finally had been granted a wonderful freedom of O2 cylinders so that you can get out of the building.
This is such rotten luck. Thinking of you. Rib
Thanks, Rib no extra 02 support offed, in fact, this nurse was downright rude in her manner to me and always had all the time I was under her, point one not once would she believe I did not smoke or use vaping via an electric cig one it is a problem here the building has no ability to channel away fumes and smell, this month, however, signs have been placed throughout the home regards the deadly deed pointing to the approved area, for them it is a pleasant covered area and kept clean. Yet in all our 50 plus residents 14 of whom live in the unit, I am in only 2 have anything to do with the filthy thing.
I certainly know about the ash accusations. I seem to get that argument every time that I get admitted to hospital. There is always a nurse or two who will not accept that I never smoked.
I am lucky though in that my Domiciliary Respiratory nurse is very supportive. She is also always ready to fight my corner if I need help getting anything from other quarters.
I am sorry that we are on opposite sides of the country or I could come and visit you and get my PA to drive us for a trip out. I could always let you have a puff on one of my four cylinders that I carry.
Is there any other way of getting a second CO2 test and opinion Ant.
Best wishes, Rib
well Rib, the nurse who did my assessment is the nurse practitioner respiratory doctors and nurses take a lead from her in short what she says goes, all she does is walk in shove an oximeter on my finger talks a bit then sneaks out with ABG machine and Jabs me violently in my wrist looks into my file mutters to her self looks again at her E pad and says I don't think you need 02 anymore rings the person who supplies it for the concentrator to be taken away along with the ambulatory bottles my sats in September were recorded at 92 this week I hit 90 to 93 after say 30 mins on one liter I hit my usual of 97, she then told me all my oxygen equipment will be collected and not to use it anymore.
At the home, I am in we have noted between us how these oximeters can swing so much we have a set policy to take 3 readings using 2 machines and go by best out of three the 02 nurse said oh! no they can never go wrong hers was always right I checked mine after she left back to 92 it was and on 2 others 90.
Regards Ant
Oh Ant, I hate those little empire builders. Her word is law then. What an awful attitude. Like you say the oxometer readings can vary by a couple of degrees but you will never get a Chinese fingertip device to work with greater accuracy than the German desktop meters. That still does not excuse her manner.
Keep up your exercise regime and hopefully you will be able to recover the 2% that you need to be able to breathe comfortably.
Kind regards, Rib
thank you Rib
Chuffed for you. x
That's good, now you can roam free x x
