I was diagnosed in june this year with COPD, i am on Salmeterol twice a day, Tiotropium once a day and ventolin as and when. Would this be classed as mild/ moderate copd?

I have been on the same meds as you for 3 years since being diagnosed with mild COPD. I dont know if this is still the case. The nurse told me I was on the best treatments at the correct dose and as I know how to take the inhalers and get some exercise then why would I need to worry about any numbers etc.I am happy with that for now. Please dont worry just look after yourself. Joyce

Hi there Ortho I also take those meds and didnt know what stage I was at until this year ive had this for over twenty years now if you want to know you are more than entitled to know but dont be worrying too much now. It would be impossible for any of us to know your stage, might be a good idea to contact the BLF mon-fri ,they are really very helpful.Takecare nice meeting you hope to see you soon. :) Janexx

Thanks jane, i am not worried about it just curious, although the meds i am on are keeping it easier i do get days when i am still breathless and if i get stressed its the same situation. I keep myself active as i think it helps too, i home educate my 2 youngest children and i also have a smallholding so that keeps me going lol

Sorry Ortho your post has only just come through to me.Goodness I envy your small holding your a very busy bee by the sounds of it which can only be good you are right, and right again when it comes to stress affecting us and can be extremely scarey and make us panickey !After all breathing is very important and our brains go "oi oi we have a problem" :) lol.You sound like your doing everything in the right way so lets hope you slow things right down .Really nice to meet you Ortho see you soon :) Janexx

Hello Ortho, my reply is the same as Joyce.

I think we all get days when we are more breathless than others. keep being active, eat well to keep your weight

do you plant your own vegetables, then? Well done!
