I think most of us with COPD either use it or have used it - it seems to be the first thing prescribed and works really well for the majority.

Yes I've got it and Seretide really works well.

hi yes lm on tiotropium 18mg this is what l was put on a long with briconyl and sybicorte l find the first one does help more than the others at one point l was finding myself on 2 puffs of tioropium and my c.o.p.d nurse that comes told me not to have 2 of them but l sometimes find it so difficult to manage on just one a day as she said it stops me passing urine don't know if anyone else on more than one capsule a day

In clinical trials of doses of 4.5, 9, 18, and 36 mcg of tiotropium per day (36 mcg = 2 puffs of Spiriva), the bronchodilation effect of 36 mcg was less than that of 18 mcg,

hi, I was using Spiriva, one capsule daily, and Ventolin (as and when) for about a year. I was finding that the Spiriva didn't seem to make much difference re. breathlessness. The Nurse at my latest check-up (in July) changed me to Seretide 250 (two puffs am and pm). She said to stop using the Spiriva but I can have the Ventolin still. I've found the Seretide to be more effective, my breathing is definitely easier now. I'm curious that so many of you are taking both Spiriva and Seretide daily, I wasn't offered both together!

My last spirometry test showed a FEV1 of 45% and I have a lung age of 90 years apparently! I'm only 60 ~ oh dear! As others have said, I've found daily exercise definitely improves my breathing. Good luck with the tiotropium, clearly it works well for some people.

I use Spireva tiotropium and was definitely told to only use once a day, in the morning. I also have inhalers for Qvar and Serevent and nebulised Salbutamol. A daily dose of Azithromycin and Mucodyne and other things for other problems seems to keep me going. skinnylizzy59.

Hi I use spiriva,& onbrez inhalers, find they are both fine, take ventolin in between, not so sure of the efficiency of that!

For some years,just had spiriva & ventolin,when things got worse,onbrez was introduced as well,made a big difference.xx

Just been to see consultant for the second time (diagnosed 3 months ago with possible COPD). 60% FEV1/FVC but really struggling - nothing seems to help - put on Spiriva, Fostair and Seretide 125 and Sabutamol. Now told to come off all of these because investigations need to take place re: possible ankylosing spondylitis and the consequential effects on lung function. He didn't seem very positive - any suggestions anyone?

What do I do next? Very croaky voice. I'm only 48 and may well have to RETIRE from teaching!
