Hi,

I have emphysema.never had a cough until recently.

Had a cough about 4 weeks ago,so started my rescue pk,anti biotics and prednisolone.

Cough went.

Now it's back again.my chest feels 'sore'.and I just keep coughing.

Does anybody know why.

Do I take another rescue pk?

Help!!!!

Thank you.x

Hi Fantasy3. All I can suggest is to go back to your doctor AND ring the BLF helpline tomorrow on 03000 030 555. They are great for support and advice. I'm sorry nobody else has responded yet, they must be busy, I'm sure they will soon.

Hi Lynne,

Thank you for the advice.

Will ring my gp tomorrow.

Xx

Support Lynne's advice if soreness is bearable.

It's a good idea to check in with your GP Fantasy3, also as suggested the helpline will be able to advise you further.

Hope you can get an early appointment with the doc and hope you are soon feeling better.

Take good care

Hi Fantasy

Would be best to see your gp rather than just taking another rescue pack. It could be the bugs you are harbouring are not sensitive to the particular ab you are taking, or maybe the dose wasn't long or high enough. Doc may want to send off a sample. Best to check with them.

Hope you're feeling better soon.

This happened to me just before Christmas, I got a cough and cold that just wouldn't shift took antibiotics, steroids and all my inhalers but was so bad I struggled to get to even the kitchen to make a drink, phoned my nurse up and she immediately got some different antibiotics prescribed for me and literally in a few days I was heaps better ... please ring your doctor or your nurse as that is what they are there for .... they can help you stay out of hospital.
