Not wishing to be pedantic, but in the name of historical accuracy, these conscripted mine workers were actually Bevin boys, named after the wartime minister of labour Ernest Bevin.
I misspelt his name. Apologies for that, however, I did go to school and I expect most people here are aware of who he is and what he did for the country.
I was half expecting there might be a few of them as members and expressed my opinion that they deserve a medal.
