does anyone suffer upper back pain with empheseama
I do
Regards jenny
Me too occasionally - I think it may be from tension in the shoulders from over breathing.
I'm the same as Homebreeze. Shoulders and upper back. I think it is down to posture. We all seem to hunch a bit to make breathing easier. Bob x
I did wonder if it was to do with that
My husband seems to - I think you are all right it must be posture. Maybe a little yoga could help? Not been able to convince the husband yet - but I live in hope! TAD xx
Oh yes! and I am sure that posture has a lot to do with it because it seems to be easier to breathe hunched forward I think we -well me- tends to sit like this nearly all the while.
I do but only when I have a chest infection
Ye me too guess it is down to the way we hold ourselves.
To all who've responded,
It isn't necessarily posture but the use of accessory muscles in aiding breathing. Normally these are not used when healthy but are more used when suffering breathing difficulties. This is very common apparently (from what I've read on the subject) but an annoying aside nevertheless.

To alleviate back ache/pain it is important to learn the diaphragmatic breathing technique. The diaphram is the largest muscle for good breathing....check Google for more information including videos, Also regular exercise will help further. Stay well Martin
Thank You to everyone for replying to my question. I will look into diaphragmatic breathing technique
