Back pain
Hi l had a lot of back and rib pain after my last stay in hospital. It lasted about 2 wks was given pain killers by hospital but they had unfortunate side effect of constipation changed to good old paracetamol much better now. You don't say if yours is recent or more permanent
Me too. Fell hard on my sit bones a year ago and had sciatica both sides ever since. Why do you have it, is there a cause? Can you get help for it? Paracetamol doesn't touch mine, I know I shouldn't but I take ibuprofen (always with food).
Where is pain?. What else did he say? I have shrunk as got older and this is not to do with damaged lungs, but nerves gets nipped as discs cushioning spine get thinner . Diagnosed as spinal stenosis. Was diagnosed early and sent to consultant but just told to go back when paralysed! Did not appreciate that. Was hoping for physio to help but covid got in the way. Told doctor on phone that I needed physio to strengthen muscles and he agreed but that was it. So where is your pain.?
Hi, I have recently been diagnosed with scoliosis, curvature of the spine. I have pain in my thoracic spine area and the lower back. I'm having an MRI in 10 days time and hope it will help to give a clearer diagnosis and possible treatment. I am currently taking co codamol for the pain as paracetamol doesn't help at all. I am attending an exercise class where exercises are done when seated. I find it helps and wish more classes were available.Have you had a diagnosis for your back pain?
Just wanted to wish you luck Roadrunner44. P ××
Thank you, I appreciate your kindness and thoughtfulness. C
Did I see you suffer from restless legs so do I its terrible
Hello, Yes I did have restless legs but now believe it was linked to being pre diabetic and having kidney disease. I was also taking the anti depressant tablet, Citalopram. I joined the restless leg forum and had excellent help and information there. I was told that some anti depressants can cause restless leg syndrome and decided to come off them. I did it slowly and also started to watch my diet. I'm delighted to say I haven't had any restless leg symptoms now for over a year.Restless Leg Syndrome is horrendous and I sympathise with you.
Change your doctor.
Hello cjc13c, I have been suffering more with back pain since my Knee replacement op. I had a fall some time ago and injured the soft tissue in my lower back which play up now and then, painkillers seem to be the only option. As my op as left me unable to exercise reqularly for some time. You don't mention why you have back pain .
About 2 and a half months ago I developed what I think is phewmonia and while it has cleared a little it has left me with this very sharp pain if I sneeze or cough to the extent that I have to hold on to my rib cage
Sounds like your lung illness has left some damage maybe scarring as anng18 discussed in her reply to you. I have poor lung function and find if i do too much I get pain like you discribe I've always put it down to muscle weakness. Sure only a specialist could decide. I hope for you it subsides as the lungs recover from your recent illness.
Well they haven't recovered yet that is 4 weeks still if I cough or sneeze it really hurts think I will talk to doctor again
Agreed sounds like you need another appointment with the Gp . Some people have had adverse effects from the virus jabs too that don't seem to be clearing up, or least ways they tally their symptoms with starting after the virus jab. My cough is much worse since the jab and not eased with the usual inhalers. So hope yours is something that can be treated and you start to feel better soon. Stay Safe and take care , the sun is out here looks nice out there.
I have back pain, on the left hand side of my back, which affects my breathing. Salamol gives some temporary relief. It gets worse if I lift or bend a lot.Just had it very badly and took a course of steroids and anti-biotics - this seems to have helped a lot.
I had it x-rayed prior to the pandemic to check for any changes - lumps etc. but nothing was apparent.
An advanced nurse practitioner thought it could be scar tissue from previous lung infections irritating the pleura surrounding the lungs.
Hope this helps - it can be very painful - I use a heated pad and sometimes pain killers to relieve the pain.
