Can anyone advise on managing intermittent coughing up mucus, mainly at night after bath and morning, worse in winter. There’s no pattern to it. I can have the problem for weeks and then it disappears. No problems with it in the warmer weather.

White/clear mucus

It will be inflamation also the bath/steam from the shower will help "loosen" the mucus. temperature changes ....being outside in cold winter weather can cause asthma symptoms to worsen for many of us... do you wear a scarf outside? ...if so use it to cover your mouth something about warming the air and trapping some moisture.... it sounds daft but the cold winter air actually causes it to be really dry (it doesn't actually have to be that cold but the humidity is much lower)
You may also need your asthma treatment modifying for winter months .... for years I had a "cough" every winter... but I'm now under a consultant in the severe asthma unit and my treatment has been changed quite considerably, I've not had a cough for a few winters.
Is your house damp or cold? If damp is an issue, a dehumidifier might help.
We've recently moved from a very damp, cold house to one that is much drier and better insulated, and I can't believe the difference it's made to my asthma.
Do u have lung disease or asthma QueenMary2- luv yr name >)The steam from bath/ shower is gd 4 dome of us at loosening mucous.take a look on aluk website at " lung clearance techniques " eg acbt, huffing technique. If u have mucous in lungs it is important to get it up so it doesn't get infected
