Fostair effects

I switched to Fostair 100/6 from Clenil Modulate 200 mid last year. I was changed to Luforbec, generic equivalent, after a couple of months. I find I have much improved control of breathing. However, I am getting chest infections virtually monthly this year. I did have occasional infections while using Clenil.

I suspect a link to the Fostair/Luforbec and I would be interested in this forums experience and wether this is a common side effect.

My annual Asthma check is soon so any advice on what I should ask my my asthma nurse is welcome.

I have been using Fostair for a few years now and I'd not thought of it before but you could be right. But my infections were/are due to pollen and moulds so they put me on montelukast which has pretty much sorted it, I've not had prednisone in nearly a year now 🤞

Thanks for your reply Gareth57, I will certainly ask about changing to another treatment and also about Montelukast.

I was given Fostair to replace Seretide - Which I liked, not sorry I went of Fostair as it seems problem free.

I was given Montelukast some years ago, I did not like it at all and it did no good. I was then called Singulair .

I'm on fostair 100/6, the doctors did try to convert me to the generic lubfrec but I refused, as generics have the may ingredients but dont necessarily perform the same due to the process in development.I will add I dont have any issues with chest infections, I do know a lot of people on the forum have had lots of issues with with lubfrec so I would consider asking to go back on fostair

Thanks Danny Q, You make a good point about going back to Fostair. That would certainly eliminate the Luforbec effect. I will certainly ask

They might try and convince you they are the same so stick to yourguns, but the real reason they put you on lubec is to save money (£8 per device)
