humidity

I was outside for maybe 20 min watching my kids play in a baby pool. The temp is 87degrees f and the humidity is 62 with a dew point of 75. I knew i wasnt getting the best of breaths but the build got scary when i could not move air properly in and out of my lungs. I did my inhaler a couple times but it didnt do the trick. Felt like the air was suffocating me. I had to quickly move my kids inside dripping wet and get my portable nebulizer. Eventually i was ok but i wasnt ok and was about to call 911.

Im already on advair 500 with spiriva.

does anyone else feel like this??

Hi BrittanyOk, I moved to UK 22 years ago and got acclimatised to our weather up North however like you I can’t stand the hot humid weather and whenever I visit my parents in the Czech Republic where the temperature is 95-104F in Summer - I feel like suffocating and can’t breathe, my inhaler doesn’t work, end up taking cold showers several times a day. Not sure what to suggest in your case apart from going outside in the evening or morning when it’s cooler during the hot weather. Try discussing it with your asthma nurse.

I was due to pick up a prescription from the pharmacy today, but can't face going out in this heat. It will have to wait until tomorrow. So sorry you had an attack.

I hate the heat and I hate high (& very low) humidity. My breathing just struggles and I avoid going out when the weather is you've described. Breathing in high moisture air isn't great for our lungs. Yukkity yuk yuk!

Yes if I suffer on both ends with dry humidity and wet humidity, trying to get the balance is so difficult especially when we have no control over the weather.
