Nucala

Anyone else on Nucala plus anther biologic? I am already self-administering Benepali (etanercept) injections weekly for rheumatoid arthritis and have now also been prescribed Nucala injections every 4 weeks for my asthma. Just wondering if anyone has experience of 2 biologics concurrently?

I do Xolair and Fasenra concurrently. In my case, I believe each has helped the response (at least initially) by the combo. I was originally put on Xolair as part of a trial to expand usage in adult patients with anaphylaxis at the recommendation of the NIH. When Nucala was available, NIH immediately recommended I start that for my HES. Unfortunately Nucala didn’t reduce number of eos in my blood or various tissues, and increased infiltrates in lungs, skin, etc and HES worsened. I had to stop the Nucala, clear it from my blood, and then (hopefully) get permission to try Fasenra (the final drug far enough along to offer Some hope for me.

I did get Permission and with the first Fasenra injection June, 2018, I went into remission. I haven’t produced another eos cell since.

I still have to cope with all the damage, and we continually find more places where they’ve done damage.
