Using a brown inhaler twice a day for post viral bronchitis, started using it a week ago. Now have bacterial Pharyngitis and little voice, feel absolutely awful. Antibiotics just started. Should I carry on using my inhaler?
Could my brown inhaler be affecting my voice.
Spacer used and I rinse and gargle after use.
Thank you ☺️

Did you discuss this with your doctor? It probably is the steroid inhaler, you might have a better result with a different steroid. Explain to your gp and ask for a different inhaler. I have seen it recommended that you should gargle for 15 minutes after using a steroid inhaler - try gargling for longer, changing the water used frequently. I sympathise with you, it is a really annoying side effect.
I just read another post where someone thought Montelukast was causing headaches, her gp changed the steroid inhaler and the headaches went.
I had Clenil and Qvar, after ages I realised both actually gave me asthma, so spoke to pharmacist now based at dox, he gave me Flixotide, end of problem. Was advised on here I could be allergic to propellant but he gave me different steroid so it's worth that phone call! 🤞
