hi everyone

I’m feeling a bit frustrated. I’m under the care of a consultant and have a good gp surgery. Usual flare. Saw urgent care doctor who prescribed a weeks pred of 40 mg for seven days with a weeks reducing course. No improvement. Had a bad attack during the night used ten puffs of ventolin which helped. Then it wobbled badly again in the morning. Back to surgery. So now on another 7 day course of 40 mg pred followed by a weeks weaning and antibiotics for chest infection. Woke up this morning with the puffed up steroid face. Doesn’t help you feel any better. Struggling to just function. I see the consultant again next month, and waiting to see if I can have another biologics. As the fasenra didn’t help.

just felt the need to share. It’s such a roller coaster and so demoralising constantly having the same thing happen. I know I’m not alone. So decided today to stay in pjs. And do nothing but rest. Hopefully the anti biotics and pred will start to work their magic soon.

Good plan staying in pjs and relaxing. Life is such an unpredictable roller coaster. I hope you are on the mend soon xx

Hi Dizzy

Poor you :( I can’t really offer any help or advice, but just wanted to say I’m sorry you’re having such a difficult time. You are not alone and this forum is such a help and comfort. I’ve had weeks and weeks of bad asthma, antibtiocs, steroids… really does get you down. Also this weather is tough on the lungs and doesn’t help. Hang in there as it will get better. Take it very easy and don’t rush the recovery. I am finally there, but it has taken weeks. The antibiotics and prednisolone will do their job, but sometimes they need a few attempts. Until then I’d stay in your pjs and keep warm.

Sending positive energy your way. Get well soon xxx

Good morning DizzySorry that you have been so unwell. Certainly a good idea to have a pj day. Try not to be too hard on yourself. I have asthma and this cold weather gives me real problems. I am sure you will get better. You can certainly notice the lighter mornings and evenings. Soon be spring.

Regards x

Definitely rest as this will help the medicines to do their job. I would watch how much Ventolin you are taking and if it stays at a high level I would seek further help.
