Fostair and sweating

I've recently been changed to Fostair from Clenil. I've also started sweating more especially when I wake up in the mornings. Has anyone else experienced this with Fostair? Just wondering if it is a side effect of the Fostair or something else. Thanks very much!

I cannot say that I have noticed anything like this and I've been on Fostair Nexthaler for over 10 years.

I too had early morning night sweats when I first started Fostair 100/6, changing over from Clenil. I didn't attribute it to the Fostair at the time and it only lasted a few weeks. I was also a bit more unsteady on my feet.

All good now 4 years on and the Fostair has made a huge difference to me.

If problems persist then speak to your doctor or specialist.

Hi, I’ve been on Fostair for about 4 years and don’t have associated night sweats - mine are all down to menopause!

Maybe the fact the weather has been a lot warmer recently is the reason your waking up hotter in the mornings I wouldn't have thought it was the fact your on fostair I've been using fostair oved 2 years with no side effects of sweating any more than I already do but because of the warmer weather I've been waking up sweating

I have just had my Fostair doubled the dose and I wake up in the night really sweating, must admit I didnt associate it with Fostair until you just said, so could be!

I am on fostair and am sweating heavily, but I think it is my asthma making everything a struggle.

Yes I too have experienced some sweating since being on Fostair. However my breathing is so much better that I am not too concerned about the night sweats and it only happens sometimes.

interesting- I was on Fostair for a few years and it coincided with me coming off HRT tablets. I started getting night sweats during that time so went back onto HRT patches a year or so ago. I was then only getting sweats first thing in the morning but my GP didn’t want to increase my twice-weekly HRT patch dose and it was inmy rarely waking me up so I put up with it. About 9 months ago I stopped Fostair and went back onto Qvar, I also started leaving my old HRT patch on when I put the new one on the other side) Mondays goes on the left, Thursday’s goes on the right, just in case there’s a tiny residual amount of meds still in it that I might benefit from, and take it off 24 hours before the next one goes on that side, not in exactly the same place). My morning sweats have disappeared since around that time, I’m now wondering if it was the Fostair or HRT making the difference.

Hi, I definitely had marked early morning sweats from Fostair. This was put down by proffesionals as stress, menopause etc and other reasons tried to be found but it was 100% the fostair. Happened about 10 mins after waking up while still lying in bed and would be head first then whole body. I couldn't cuddle my partner or I'd be off sweating! Didnt happen before the meds and doesnt happen now I've stopped them. I do wish that medics would listen to people who know their own bodies and realise that side effects can be individual. Also please report via yellow card scheme as if they see someone else has mentioned it they are more likely to believe others😀

Thanks Everyone. I initially thought it might be the Fostair as I had a similar experience when on steroid tablets although I realise they are a lot stronger and a different steroid. I have now looked up the list of side effects on line for Fostair and it appears that one of the less common side effects given is "excessive sweating". I will see how things go but I might decide to come off Fostair and go back onto Clenil as this really isn't a pleasant experience! Thanks again for helping me understand that I am not imagining things!
