Montelukast and heart problems

Hello is there anyone out there with heart and lung problems that is taking montelukast please ?

I’m having some investigation into a heart thing which seems to be improving and not causing too many problems and could really do with going back on my montelukast which I took for about five years previously and have been off for about 9 months ,,,,I’m only using Adizam for my heart at the moment and I know we are not doctors but I wondered if anyone had any options etc.

I tend not to read side effects etc because then I get them 🤷🏻‍♀️….

Why don’t you speak to your pharmacist? They are experts in drugs and would be able to advise you.

Hi, It may depend on what your heart problem is Hazel1010. I am on Montelukast too and suffer with Angina and High blood pressure, both medicated.

Do you have a respiratory nurse that you can talk to? I find it can be easier because they have more time to discuss your meds and how you are feeling etc.

If not then I think a visit to your GP would be best. The trouble is everyone is different and reacts in a different way to medications so it is hard to give advice.

Hi , thanks for your reply, I’m popping into my pharmacist later she knows me and the pills that I take which too be honest are only a few and I’m sure it will be fine .All it is I tend not to read the leaflet with side effects because then I get them 🤔 😂
