Does anyone know if this is available as a metered dose inhaler? Or just the powder? Can't work it out from google!
Having a very confusing conversation going between the reception of the doctors and the pharmacy.

I think the MDI is only available in 100/6 or 200/6. Whereas they are also available as DPI along with the 400/12. No reason given, maybe not cost effective for the manufacturer.
Flutiform is a generic inhaler and it is available as an MDI
Hi, Flutiform and Symbicort aren't the same thing - they share the same long-acting bronchodilator (formoterol) but they have different steroid bases (Symbicort is budesonide and Flutiform is fluticasone).
That's not to say a different steroid wouldn't suit purpledory and it's possibly a discussion to have with the nurse or GP if an MDI is needed.
Symbicort 400/12 only comes in DPI version. If you prefer the MDI type you can discuss it with your doc and should be able to do twice the dose on a 200/6 inhaler (ie 2 x 400/12 = 4 x 200/6). Hope this helps!
Thank you for all your responses!
I did wonder that EmmaF91!
Nobody mentioned it before prescribing and I am so used to them accidentally giving me powder that i just assumed it was a mistake at first ... clearly not.
Hi it comes as a powder inhaler. Its just like the red sybicort 200/6. Usually the dose for 400/12 is less as its stronger. Hope the helps
