Hi, I use a Vax air purifier in my bedroom - one of the taller bigger ones - I can’t say it’s made a noticeable difference to my asthma but I think it’s just my asthma as it’s difficult to control. But the filter certainly collects a lot of noticeable dust (and pollen presumably) so it might be that my asthma would be worse without it.

The replacement filters aren’t cheap and you have to replace them about every six months if it’s in regular use so that’s something to factor in.

They make SUCH a huge difference. It is so gross when you see how much dust and stuff is in the filter when you change it :/ We have a Boneco with a HEPA filter and it's great. Just know the filters can be expensive but you only have to replace them 1-2 times a year. It's worth it for cleaner air!

Hi, I have two air purifiers and they definitely help me with pollen and other tiggers. Mine is called a Partu Fresh air filter. They are portable so I move them around and even take them to other people’s houses on a bad day!

Hi guys thanks for your replies, my asthma and sinus problems are definitely allergy related so seems like an air purifier would be helpful x

Be aware, if ozone is a trigger for you, some models also have an ioniser in them (which produce ozone). I very nearly spent a lot of money on the Which? Best Buy only to notice moments before I paid for it that it would actually make my breathing worse due to the ioniser.

Hi yes thanks I had seen that and the one I am looking at doesn’t have an ioniser xx
