I do not have Asthma but hopefully some kind folk may be able to advise me on something I am sure they have knowledge of. I have Hypothyroidism and also have a rare blood disorder AIHA that can react to viruses and want to try and get back to a more normal existence after having the latest flu and COVID boosters. Does anyone have any experience of using an air purifier in the house to help prevent contracting viruses from other people visiting. I realise that if someone has a virus and is shedding a large amount of molecules it is a big ask of a device but I am more interested in non symptomatic people who feel OK. I realise they too can be contagious.
Thank you in advance for any replies.

I have a a Dyson air purifier (very expensive but worth it.) It is highly sensitive- I run it on auto - and it even turns itself up when my husband has wine. They say it can filter viruses because of the small particles it can filter out. I’m not good at explaining the technicalities so I have included a link to the information.
Hi. I've just found the user manual but on the front are three numbers which are: ACO819/ACO820 and ACO830. I do know it has something called Vitashield Intelligent Purification System. I'm very happy with mine. I use it in my bedroom for my asthma. As soon as you move around it detects pollutants in the air. There's a coloured light system that goes through red, pink and blue according to how much dust is in the air. It's very quiet on the blue setting when it has cleaned the air. Hope that helps.
I have HEPA filter machines around the house. One in the bedroom runs all night. I have a big Dyson in the hall running all day. Both help a lot to cut down on particles.
I would buy a low cost one first. Mine was £45 from Amazon before buying a big machine.m
